Our Approach

Our therapy is evidenced based, effective and selected to meet the needs of the individual person.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy | CBT

CBT is a collaborative therapy that aims to address the biased thinking habits which negatively impact our mood, behaviours & actions. By challenging our problematic thinking & cultivating new ways of understanding we are able to make positive change.

Acceptance & Commitment Therapy | ACT

ACT is a type of therapy that helps us to open up to difficult feelings, face challenging situations & take action based on our identified values. In this therapy, we learn to cope with painful feelings & situations which we cannot immediately change.

Mindfulness Therapy | MBSR

Mindfulness helps to increase awareness of the thoughts & feelings that hinder our progress, learn to sit with discomfort & choose how to respond to life’s difficulties. In this practice, we become wise observers of our own thoughts & feelings and effectively change our internal experiences and our relationship to the world around us.

Compassion Focussed Therapy | CFT

CFT helps us develop a compassionate understanding of ourselves & our difficulties which promotes mood regulation, safety & healing. In this therapy we learn that we do not heal through criticism, blame & judgment but instead by understanding our struggles with gentility.

Buddhist Psychology

Buddhist psychology uses concepts of mindfulness, acceptance, compassion and simplicity to help us break through the illusion that happiness comes from achieving or acquiring more. Instead of ‘chasing happiness’ through our attachments, achievements or future plans we cultivate peace of mind by making peace with ourselves as we are.

Existential Humanistic Psychotherapy

Existential humanism is a type of therapy that primarily focuses on working through our deepest fears, identifying our authentic selves, taking personal responsibility for our choices and finding meaning in life.
