Dr Louise Martin (she/her)
Dr Louise Martin DClinPsy, MSc, BSc | Clinical Psychologist & Clinical Associate
I am a clinical psychologist working in the NHS and private practice. My approach is warm, reflective, and collaborative. I aim to offer a space where people can feel seen and heard as they explore who they are and what matters most to them. You don’t need to have everything figured out to start, and we can explore things at your own pace in a supportive and non-judgmental space.
I work in an integrative way, drawing on a range of therapy approaches including Compassion-Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Narrative Therapy. I recognise that many patterns we develop in life begin as survival strategies, ways of coping that may once have helped us manage difficult experiences. Over time, these strategies can stop feeling helpful or start to get in the way of living the life we want.
I support people to live more authentically, reconnect with their sense of self, and move towards what brings them purpose, joy, and meaning, even in the context of difficult or overwhelming experiences. To help achieve this, I help you take step back and consider your life more broadly, including your relationships, community, and shared human experiences, which can all play a role in supporting the meaningful change you want to make.
I work with people experiencing a range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, stress, long-term health conditions, navigating relationships, identity questions, grief, feeling stuck or disconnected, and life transitions. My work is affirming of LGBTQIA+ identities and experiences. All sessions are online, so you can connect from wherever feels most comfortable.
I completed my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the University of Surrey, where I also obtained a Foundation in Systemic Practice.
