Dr Alison Bromley (she/her)
Dr Alison Bromley PsychD, MSc | Forensic Psychologist & Clinical Associate
I’m a psychologist with over 20 years experience working therapeutically. I take a person-centred, trauma-informed approach, which means I work alongside you at your pace, taking your experiences seriously and helping you make sense of what feels most important.
My training includes a Doctorate in Forensic Psychology, two Masters degrees in Psychology and a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling. I practice integratively, drawing from multiple therapies including psychodynamic psychotherapy, schema therapy, mentalisation based therapy (MBT), EMDR and CBT. I draw on these in a way that’s tailored to you rather than sticking rigidly to one model.
I have expertise in working with clients with ADHD, neurodivergence, depression, anxiety, OCD, trauma, relationship difficulties, stress, shame, low self-esteem, childhood neglect and abuse, inconsistent parenting, emotional dysregulation and anger amongst other struggles.
I’m additionally committed to providing LGBTQ+ affirmative therapy and to creating a space where different sexual orientations, gender identities, and relationship styles are understood and respected. I’m aware that LGBTQ+ people can face specific challenges, including stigma, discrimination, and questions around identity and belonging, and I aim to offer a space where you don’t have to explain or justify who you are.
Alongside this, I’m a qualified ADHD coach and bring both professional knowledge and lived experience of ADHD into my work. I’m neurodiversity-aware and aim to work in a way that fits how you think and process, rather than expecting you to fit a particular mould.
I aim to offer a warm, thoughtful, and non-judgemental space where you can feel comfortable being yourself. You might come to therapy to explore identity, work through difficult experiences, manage anxiety or low mood, or simply to have somewhere to think things through, I’ll work with you in a way that feels useful and manageable.
I’m registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and am a Chartered Member of the British Psychological Society (BPS).
